Well... here we go. I wasn’t sure I’d make it this far without imploding from caffeine, plot twists, and emotional damage—but Blood-Striped Soldier is officially happening.
I've been working on another book, but not just another book. And not just a trilogy. A saga. Introducing, Blood-Striped Soldier. It takes place in the same world as Fate's Inmate, but it stands on it's own. There is little overlap. But this is Roman’s story. His past. His secrets. His slow-burn unraveling. Title: Blood-Striped Soldier Status: Drafting like my life depends on it Beta Readers Needed: If you're brave enough to step into the dark corners of Vazenia and emerge with notes, thoughts, or fangirl squeals, I want you on this team. Want to beta read? Shoot me an email. I’ll be picking a small group for early feedback soon. In the meantime, thanks for being here. It means more than I can say. —L. Blaise Hues

Will I keep this page updated? Probably not.
Will I try? Yes, at least for a while. Even if just to keep myself accountable. I'm working on a secret project. Only my husband and kids know about it. Well, ands now you know about it, but only that it exists. It's a book, obviously, and I think it's a delightful little thing. The idea has followed me, haunting and prodding me in the back, demanding attention, so I finally sat down, maybe not even to write it for real, but just to write it to get it out. It's been 5 days and I have 23k words. That's insane. Guess it goes to show you have to follow you muse. I spend hours a day writing, reading, editing, writing more, thinking, and plotting this book. I set the due date for the first draft at Feb. 21. And I think I'll make it happen. Once I get that draft down I'll go back to writing What the Dead Don't Know. Still aiming for an October 2025 release date for that one. Here's a pic of my boy just so the page isn't boring visually and to serve as a reminder that y'all need to read The Final Victor if you haven't yet. And please, please, leave reviews on Goodreads and Amazon. Thank you! |
AuthorI write gritty YA books that are generally more violent that I intended them to be. My name is Laura, pronounced 'Lara', hence spelling it that way as a pen name. My middle name is not Blaise. ArchivesCategories |
